14 November 2010 – Will Gale trials for Kettering Town FC

Posted: November 14, 2010 in Press Releases
Fresh from his top-ten debut in the Trent Valley Kart championships last weekend, Derby-based kart racer Will Gale made his football debut for Kettering Town Under 12s on Sunday, playing all of the second half in the football academy side’s 6-2 demolition of West Bromwich Albion. Playing at left back for the first time, it was Will’s first league game in over a year because of issues with his age related to his accelerated transfer to senior school.

RamTec Motorsport Team boss and dad, David Gale, said, “I told him to savour the moment as he put on the shirt. Will looked at me and said, ‘Don’t be daft, Dad, it’s just a game of football!’ I think it’s safe to assume that he took it in his stride.”

Will is on a trial period with Kettering Town FC, having been scouted at a recent trials event and continues to train with their academy squad twice a week, on top of his kart racing commitments. His next scheduled race is in the Trent Valley Kart Championships at the PFi circuit on December 5th. Kettering Town Under 12s play in the COE centre of excellence league against teams that include premiership clubs from all over England.
